NOTE: VS 2010 users must switch the target framework to ".NET Framework 4" as by default Windows Forms applications target ".NET Framework 4 Client Profile". This is required, because Nevron Chart and Diagram for WinForms are using design time support features that are not present in ".NET Framework 4 Client Profile". To do this right click on the project in Solution Explorer and select properties. On the Application tab go to "Target Framework" and select ".NET Framework 4".

Range Series - The Range series can display 2D or 3D shapes defined by the begin / end values of their bounding boxes. It can be used for display of histograms, bars with custom sizes, 3D ranges etc.

Vector Series - The vector series allows for the display of 2D and 3D vector fields, with controllable vector position, vector direction and color.

3D Chart Fit In Box
All Cartesian 3D charts can now be forced to fit their entire content (axis labels, series etc.) into the content area box defined by their panel.

Chart Axes Improvements

Range Label Improvements - Range labels have been improved to support additional tick styles as well as options for automatic fitting and clipping.

View Range Inflate - All axes can now be configured to inflate their logical range in several modes. You can now specify whether the axis range should be rounded to the nearest major tick or specify custom logical or absolute inflate.

Hierarchical Scale Improvements - The hierarchical scale configurator has been extended to support first level and group level grid style and controllable label overlapping behavior that differs for first and group level labels. Support for expandable/collapsible shapes (groups).

Support for shape decorators. In this release we have implemented the following decorators:
- Frame Decorator - adds a header and background to a shape.
- Expand Collapse Decorator - adds an expand/collapse toggle button to a shape.
- Show Hide Subtree Decorator - adds a show/hide subtree toggle button to a shape.

Support for Table Shapes - Table shapes are similar to the tables used in HTML (i.e. each cell can span several rows and/or columns, and may contain images and/or text).

Support for UML Shapes - Built upon the Table Shape, they allow the user to create UML class diagrams with ease. The UML shapes also supports different notations for its UML members.

Support for ERM Shapes and Connectors - With ERM Shapes and Connectors you can easily display any Entity Relation diagram.

Diagram Layout Improvements

The Balloon Tree Layout supports properties to control the sector angle for the children of the root vertex and the children of the other vertices, as well as the start angle at which to begin the layouting of the shapes.

The Radial and the Single Cycle Layouts allow the user to control their aspect ratio.

The Tip-over Tree Layout supports a different placement specifier for the tree leafs.

The Layered Graph Layout allows the user to specify the position of each node in its layer individually using its Layout Data.

The Database Importer allows the users to import the entire hierarchy of a database, which makes the task of creating database entity relation diagrams easier than ever before.

- The hit test of diagrams with thousands of shapes has been significantly optimized.

Nevron Chart for .NET (WinForms and ASP.NET) version Q3 2008:

Mixing 2D and 3D charting types in one chart control

Each chart panel now supports the Enable3D property allowing you to dynamically switch the chart rendering from 2D to 3D and vice versa. This feature allows mixing of 2D and 3D charts in a single chart control.

Axis Ruler Caps

Axis rulers can now be decorated with begin and end cap style allowing the visualization of scientifically looking charts. Additional features include the ability to break the ruler painting if it crosses a scale break, increasing chart readability.

Custom Value and Range Labels

You can now add custom value or range labels. This feature can be very useful when you have to explicitly denote values or ranges on the scale. Value and range labels come up with a variety of customization options including controllable visibility and tick style as well as the ability to mix the automatic labels with the custom ones in one scale level.

Hierarchical Scales

This is a new type of scale configurator utilizing the range labels feature in order to create scales with hierarchical (tree) structure. This type of scale is widely used when you have to display grouped categorical data.

Value and Range Timeline Scales

Timeline configurators allow you to configure a scale to display date/time information by decorating the scale using several date/time units. By doing this the scale becomes more informative to the end user as it allows him/her to view important date/time events that happen inside the date/time range displayed by the scale.

XML Formatted Text Improvements

The XML formatted text specification has been extended to support the shape tags allowing you to insert shapes with controllable fill, stroke and shadow in any text displayed by the component.

Automatic Walls Visibility

The walls of the chart when working in 3D mode can dynamically change their visibility depending on the user viewpoint so that they do not obscure the chart content. This feature is very useful when you want to give the user the ability to look at a chart from a different angle and want to ensure that the chart content remains completely visible.

Automatic Axis Position

The axes of the chart when working in 3D mode can dynamically choose a dock zone depending on the user viewpoint so that they do not obscure the chart content.

Pie Chart Improvements

The pie chart series can now render pies with the following new shapes Ring, Smooth Edge Ring and Cut Edge Ring.

Range Sliders

The axis scrollbar is extended to support range sliders thus allowing the user to change the visible axis range with the mouse.

Polar Chart Improvements

The Polar chart has been improved to support docking of angle axis on the outer rim of the polar are as well as docking of value axes to the sides of the polar. Value axis support reflection painting, which allows for better readability of polar charts. A new scale configurator has been added to address the specifics of dynamic angle step calculation and decoration. In addition polar charts now support line, area and point series.

Radar Chart Improvements

The Radar chart has been extended to support scaling of multi dimensional data.

Light Model Improvements

The light model now allows for easier configuration of point, spot and directional light sources. The position of each light source can be in model or camera space. Several new lighting schemes are added to the predefined light schemes supported by the component.

Compatible with IIS7

Nevron Chart now meets the new requirements of IIS7 and can be safely deployed to IIS7 servers.

Dynamic Image Size

In AJAX mode the Nevron web controls can be resized dynamically through asynchronous requests.

Image map with Instant Callback

Because the Nevron Instant Callback cannot read result data from the server when a request completes, the client side image map cannot be update dynamically. There are cases, though, such as toolbars or other navigation elements, when an image map is required but it does not change over time. Now the Nevron web controls generate an initial image map also when using Instant Callbacks, extending the range of cases, when Instant Callbacks can be used to optimize the application performance.

The JavaScript files that are loaded by the Nevron web controls at the client are extensively optimized in size, which speeds up the initial parsing of the code, saves traffic and reduces the file transfer time.

Map Import

Full featured import of ESRI shape files with support for the following types of projections:
Aitoff, Bonne, Lambert, Behrmann, Tristan, Edwards, Peters, Gall, Balthasart, EckertIV, EckertVI, Equirectangular, Hammer, Kavrayskiy VII, Mercator, MillerCylindrical, Mollweide, Orthographic, Robinson, Stereographic, Van Der Grinten, Wagner VI and Winkel Tripel. The ESRI import can easily be extended to include custom data formatting. For the purpose of displaying maps in diagrams, layers have been extended to support conditional visibility based on the zoom factor. When maps are imported in multiple layers you can define the zoom range in which each particular layer is visible. This helps you implement maps, which support zoom based level-of-detail. For the purpose of maps the NPointElement has been extended to support text. This helps you display geo points as labeled point shapes, which are independent of the zoom factor.

Data Import

Support for automatic import of tree and graph data structures from tabular data sources. The new data import feature supports the following data sources: DataTable, DataView, OleDbDataAdapter, SqlDataAdapter, OdbcDataAdapter, OleDbCommand, SqlCommand, OdbcCommand. The data import provides you with the ability to control the data records information shown for each record.

DOM Improvements

We have added the NSegmentLabel, which gives you the ability to anchor text to a predefined or custom model segment. The NSegmentLabel can be instructed to keep text upward orientation as well as to follow the segment orientation. Shapes now have the SizeToText method, which attempts to size the shape to the primary (default) label size. The NDrawingDocument has been extended to provide the MeasureStringInWorld and MeasureStringInScene methods.

New Predefined Shapes

In this release we have added new shapes in the following shape factories:
- Symbol shapes - 7 new shapes
- Food shapes - 11 new shapes
- Brainstorming shapes - 18 new shapes

Layouts Improvements

All graph layouts have been revised to support self loops and bi-links. With this improvements the Nevron Diagram layouts engine is now capable of arranging any type of graph. The compact depth and layered tree layouts have been improved to support plug spacing.

Windows Forms Improvements

Following is a list of the new behavior improvements of WinForm views:
- Shift modifies the resize behavior of side handles - when pressed aspect ratio is preserved.
- Shift modifies the resize behavior of corner handles - when pressed aspect ratio is broken.
- We have added support for auto scrolling when the dragged object area hits the window scroll margins.
- We have added the NMouseWheelScrollAndZoomTool. By default the mouse wheel scrolls the drawing view horizontally. When Shift is pressed the view is scrolled vertically. When Control is pressed the view is zoomed in or out. Click the middle mouse button to activate anchor scrolling (similar to MS Internet Explorer, MS Visual Studio, MS Visio etc.).
- We have added the NLibraryWheelScrollTool - it is similar to the NMouseWheelScrollAndZoomTool, but does not support zooming (since library views cannot be zoomed).

Styling Support - The control features an embedded styling support, allowing you to quickly apply a style sheet in order to change the appearance of the chart contents. In addition you can create your own, custom style sheets using a set of style sheet configurators and palettes. The styling mechanism is also open for extension.

Automatic Pie Chart Data Label Layout - The layout algorithm used to resolve label overlapping in 2D is extended to support 3D pie charts as well. The pie chart labels are automatically positioned in a manner that doesn't allow them to overlap with each other.

Improved Panel Layout - All content panels in the control are extended to support Margins and Padding allowing for a fine gradient control over the panels spacing.

Improved Text Rendering Speed - The text rendering speed for all labels has been significantly improved.

Improved Hit Testing Speed in 3D - Hit testing speed in 3D has been improved. You will find out that the new version behaves much better when hit testing large data sets.

Border Style - All content panels now support a border style allowing you to place a border around the panel content. Radial Gauges have been extended to support custom border styles like Circle, Cut Edge Circle and Rounded Outline.

Paint Effects - All content panels now support a paint effect that emulates the reflection of glass or gel cap over the panel content. This feature allows for the creation of more visually appealing gauges and charts.

Automatic Jittering - In WinForms applications using 3D charts the control can automatically detect a period of inactivity between chart refresh calls and use it to antialias the 3D scene. This greatly improves the visual appearance of 3D charts as jagged edges are removed at minimal performance cost.

Redesigned Examples - All examples of the components have been redesigned in order to take advantage of the improvements in styling, borders, paint effects and layout.

Improved Documentation - The documentation of the component has been improved in order to be more user friendly.

Improved Layouts - The following layouts were significantly improved:

- Layered Graph Layout
Added support for orthogonal edge routing, with integrated bus spacing, which allows for the generation of very nice looking orthogonal graph drawings. Added support for node alignment options, which help you specify the relative alignment of nodes inside the layer. Added support for different node ranking policies. Added support of in and out plug spacing, which work very well with bus spacing and further increases the drawing readability.

- Dock Layout
Added support for different filling and fitting modes.

- Orthogonal Graph Layout
Added support for plug spacing.

All layouts were carefully profiled and as a result the layouts now perform much faster.

Improved Documentation - The documentation of the component has been improved in order to be more user friendly.

What’s new in Nevron User Interface for .NET (WinForms) Q2 2008 Release:

Following is a list of fixes introduced in this release:
- Saves / Loads correctly the state of the Toolbars.
- Saves / Loads correctly the order of AutoHide panels.
- Setups the width of NVScrollBar nad NHScrollBar less than the system default.
- When selecting an item in a combo box with two or more items with equal text the SelectedIndex property can now correctly distinguish between such items.

Scale Breaks
The component introduces scale breaks with controllable position, scale break inflate and style (wave, straight and zig zag). There are two types of scale breaks:

- Automatic Scale Breaks - automatic scale breaks allow you to dynamically analyze gaps in data and collapse parts of the chart x, y or depth axis so that the data becomes more readable.

- Custom Scale Breaks - custom scale breaks allow you to collapse user defined ranges on the chart axis. You can mix automatic and custom scale breaks on every chart axis.

Automatic Chart Axis Labels Orientation
The component will automatically orient labels in 3D to the scale ruler orientation when you rotate the chart thus making it more readable. You can also instruct the component to prevent texts from flipping.

Automatic Gauge Axis Labels Orientation
The component will automatically orient gauge axis labels relatively to their position on the radial or linear gauge ruler. You can also instruct the component to prevent texts from flipping.

Automatic Pie Data Label Layout
The component will automatically layout the pie labels so that they do not overlap.

Dynamic image map in AJAX mode
In Q1 2008 Nevron web components now support a dynamic image map that can be automatically updated at the client on every callback. The developer has control over when the image map is generated when is and updated on the client. The dynamic image map allows client side filtering of mouse events and prevents unnecessary callbacks for server side hit testing.

Controller-Tools Architecture in AJAX mode
Controller and tools are added to the Nevron client side JavaScript framework. All mouse events are now processed by the controller, which allows for implementing complex mouse handling logic and combining callback event processing with pure client side event processing.

Print Manager for Web Forms
None of the most popular web browsers is capable of printing really large images. Nevron .NET Vision Q1 2008 introduces a new HTTP handler that generates HTML, suitable for printing.

What’s new in Nevron Diagram for .NET Q1 2008:

Support for inward–outward port connections
In this release we have implemented support for inward-outward ports. This feature lets you interactively glue an outward port to inward port. When an outward port of a shape is connected to an inward port, the shape will translate and rotate together with the shape owning the inward port. The translation aims to match the outward port location to the inward port location. The rotation aims to match both ports direction angles. For each type of port we have provided an extensive set of predefined modes in which a port can automatically determine its direction angle. Custom (user specified) direction angles are supported by all ports. This feature is extremely useful for interactive construction of connected shapes structures without edges. For example: in a floor plan diagram you can have a table with 4 inwards ports designated for the possible places where chairs can be placed. Chairs can have a single outward port. The placement of the chairs around the table is then a matter of simple drag and drop – Nevron Diagram will perform the snapping and glueing of the chairs to the table for you. When you move, rotate or resize the table the chairs will stay on their places.

Powerful support for graph, tree and cells layouts
In this release we have added enterprise quality support for automatic layouts. The layouts are generally grouped in the following categories:

Graph Layouts – perform automatic arrangement of graph vertices and edges. Included the following layouts:

- Force Directed Layouts - barycenter, spring and symmetrical. The implementation provides supports for lots of supplemental data provided on per edge and vertex basis. It addresses issues like magnetic fields, gravity force and vertex overlapping. The performance is significantly optimized due to the use of local temperatures. The overall quality of drawing is also improved because of the used global cooling method. It is suitable for any type of graph. Produces straight line graph drawings.

- Layered Graph Layout – represents a classical implementation, which layouts a graph in layers. The layout addresses issues like crossing and bending minimization. It is suitable for any type of graph. Produces polyline graph drawings.

- Orthogonal Graph Layout – represents a layout, which draws a graph only with horizontal or vertical line segments. The layout addresses issues like crossing minimization, bends minimization and overall compactness of the drawing. It is suitable for any type of graph. Produces orthogonal graph drawings.

- Radial Graph Layout - represents a layout, which draws a graph in radial circles. It is suitable for any type of graph. Produces straight line graph drawings.

Tree Layouts – perform automatic arrangement of tree vertices and edges:

- Layered Tree Layout – layouts a tree in layers. The layout addresses the breadth compaction of the drawing. Produces straight line and orthogonal tree drawings. Compact Depth Tree Layout – layouts a tree with minimal depth. The layout also addresses the breadth compaction of the drawing. Produces straight line and orthogonal tree drawings.

- Compact Depth Tree Layout – layouts a tree with minimal depth. The layout also addresses the breadth compaction of the drawing. Produces straight line and orthogonal tree drawings.

- Tip Over Tree Layout - layouts a tree by placing children in either a row or a col. The row column children placement is controlled on a per vertex basis. Addresses the overall compaction of the drawing. Produces orthogonal tree drawings.

- Balloon Tree Layout – layouts the tree in by placing the vertex children in a circular fashion. Addresses the overall compaction of the drawing. Produces straight line tree drawings.

Cell Layouts – perform automatic arrangement of the vertices of a graph:

- Stack Layout - represents a directed constrained cells layout, which stacks the cells in horizontal or vertical order. Depending on the layout direction the layout is constrained by either width or height.

- Flow Layout - represents a directed constrained cells layout, which arranges the cells in horizontal or vertical lanes.

- Dock Layout – represents space eating cells layout, which places vertices at per-vertex specified docking areas of the currently available layout area. Table Layout - represents a directed constrained cells layout, which arranges cells in a tabular manner.

Dynamic image map in AJAX mode
In Q1 2008 Nevron web components now support a dynamic image map that can be automatically updated at the client on every callback. The developer has control over when the image map is generated when is and updated on the client. The dynamic image map allows client side filtering of mouse events and prevents unnecessary callbacks for server side hit testing.

Nevron User Interface for .NET

In this release Nevron User Interface for .NET includes a powerful new control named NTreeList. The control is based on the NTreeViewEx and extends it by adding list-view functionality. This combination allows for complex data-related tasks like grouping, sorting, binding, etc. The control appearance and functionality is highly customizable. Following are the some of the major features of the control:

- Freezable list view columns - You can choose some columns to be displayed regardless how the user scrolls horizontally. This is feature is very useful when you need to make sure that important data is always displayed.
- Binding to a Data Table - This feature allows you to import the NTreeListData from a DataTable object, as well as to implement custom data import.
- Extensible row filtering - You can combine several types of predefined filters to selectively display rows in the list.

New Charting Types
- Kagi - Kagi is a type of financial chart that illustrates the forces of supply and demand on a security. It is focused on price action and disregards the passage of time.
- Renko - Renko is a type of financial chart that is very effective for traders to identify key support and resistance levels. It filters minor price movements and emphasizes on general trends.
- Point and Figure - Point and Figure is a type of financial chart that is designed to filter non-significant price changes and to focus on the main price trends. Point and Figure charts are usually used for longer term price movements.
- Three Line Break - Three Line Break is a price change financial chart that is similar in concept to Kagi, Renko and Point and Figure.

Ability to Drag Gauge Indicators
Added is the ability to drag gauge indicators with the mouse as well as to protect gauge indicators from dragging. You can also use the new Value Snapping to snap gauge indicators to certain values when dragging.

Improved Performance
The chart axis zoning and calculation is optimized. The conversion from logical to scale units and vice versa is optimized.

Improved Value Snapping
All objects that reference an axis value can now snap in variety of ways including: snap to major ticks, snap to minor ticks, numeric snapping (based on an origin value and step), date time snapping (based on an origin date and date/time step) and ruler min max snapping.

Ability to export images in EMF file format
The component can save images in EMF file format as well as to copy EMF images to the clipboard.

DataGridView (VS 2005 only)
The NDataGridView is an extended System.Windows.Forms.DataGridView control which modifies the appearance to match the Nevron one, adds custom scrollbars, column and row headers and features like additional predefined column which displays child relations in a drop-down manner.

TreeViewEx (VS 2005 only)
The NTreeViewEx is a completely custom control written from scratch in 100% C# code. Its main purpose is to eliminate most of the drawbacks of the standard tree-view which ships with Windows Forms while providing superior performance and memory optimization. The control is capable of displaying 100 000+ nodes with ease and in the same time resizing remains instant. Following is a brief description of the control's main features:

- Simple and intuitive object model.
- Extremely fast and optimized. Can be resized instantly.
- Rich event model allowing for virtually any behavior to be overridden and/or extended.
- Completely customizable appearance based on visual states per tree-view or node basis. Complete adorners (boxes and lines) control.

Grid Surface and Mesh Surface series now support smooth shading.

Data Binding with Custom Data Sources
The chart now supports data binding with custom data sources that implement the IBindingList and (optionally) the ITypedList interfaces.

Gauges for .NET
The component introduces new linear and radial gauge panels allowing you to display virtually any linear or radial gauge. Gauge features include multiple indicators, multiple gauge axes, intelligent gauge scale decorations and many more. The gauges in Nevron Chart for .NET use extensively the Nevron Smart Shape technology as well as the Nevron Scale technology. Gallery Panel
The NGalleryPanel is an item-container control which mimics the Microsoft® Office 2007 galleries. 4 different types of item layout are provided so that the panel may be used as an extended list-box or list-view. Based on the Nevron generic UI element, the NGalleryItem component is highly customizable in each aspect of visual representation, including rich texts, alpha-blended images, custom item size, etc.

ListView
The NListView extends the standard Windows Forms ListView control and adds missing features like complete control over header and header items, alternating rows, column sorting, sorted column glyph, sorted column shading, custom scrollbars, etc.

Rotator
The NRotator is a very useful control which brings the popular "Rotator" feature from ASP.NET to your Windows Forms. The control contains a collection of frames where each frame is described by a generic UI element providing complete control over visual appearance, image and text. The well-designed set of properties will enable you with fine-tune control over frame duration, animation speed, animation direction plus much more.

Command Bars - ImageTextRelation
Provides complete control over the image and text entities of an NCommand object by specifying the ImageTextRelation property of its parent.

Task Dialog - Radio Buttons
The NTaskDialog is further extended and now it supports a set of radio-buttons for richer user experience. The radio buttons are layouted just below the Content section of the dialog.

Docking Panels - Sizing Restrictions
Nevron Docking Panels are now enabled with sizing restrictions in floating state. You may alter the MinimumSize, MaximumSize and Sizable properties of a floating container directly.

Docking Panels - Visual Tab Navigation
Nevron Docking Panels are the only Docking Library which enables you with the advanced CTRL+TAB visual navigation found in Microsoft® Visual Studio 2005. Pressing Ctrl+Tab will display a NPopup containing two gallery panels - one containing all active docking panels and one containing all active documents. Optionally this feature may be turned on and off via the VisualTabNavigation property of an NDockManager. You may also change the shortcut which triggers the pop-up.

Navigation Pane - Expand/Collapse
The NNavigationPane is extended with the Collapse/Expand feature found in Microsoft® Office 2007. By clicking the button on the caption of the pane you toggle its state. When the pane is collapsed you may display the currently active band by clicking in the area below the caption and above the buttons stack.

Graph Layouts
- Layered graph layout - hierarchically arranges graphs.

Common for all force directed layouts are the following constrain forces:

- Magnetic field force - impose an orientation of the edges. Magnetic fields can be combined. Supported are parallel, Polar and Concentric magnetic fields. Edge magnetization (bidirectional or unidirectional) can be specified on a per edge basis.
- Bounce back force - tries to additionally push overlapping vertices apart.

Tree Layouts
- Layered tree layout - layouts the tree in layers. Tries to improve the breadth tree size.
- Compact tree layout - layouts the tree by improving both the breadth and depth tree sizes. Does not obey to layering in order to achieve compact tree drawing.
- Tip-over tree layout - layouts the parent children horizontally or vertically. The parent children arrangement is specified on a per parent basis.
- Radial tree layout - layouts the tree layers in concentric circles.

Pages
The diagram component will support pages. Each page will support different logical and display units, layers etc. The page will be controlled by a formula sheet.

Formula Shapes
Nevron diagram will support formula shapes. More details on this feature will be published additionally.

The NSkinManager is a powerful tool which enables you to provide image-based appearance logic to the entire UI. Each UI control is divided into parts and states and each state is described by a skin entry. Redesigned Scale Model
The Axes of Nevron Chart now employ a declarative scale model to describe the axis scale, scale decorations and wall decorations. This is combined with a powerful set of scale configurators that can be used to describe and extend any type of scale. Following is a list of the major advantages of this model:
Label Fitting - the scale can now automatically detect and resolve label overlapping - this is implemented in both 2D and 3D.

- Better Date Time Support - you can now specify non-regular time units (e.g. units that cannot be expressed through milliseconds and are dependent on some reference date). The month, quarter and year are example of such units.
- Distance Based Scale Decoration - this is the ability to control the distance between scale decorations (ticks, labels etc) depending on the scale size in device units - this feature automatically reduces / increases the number of ticks and labels on the scale depending on the size of the chart. Smaller charts will be less decorated which improves the chart readability.
- Interlace and Sampled Stripes - this feature allow you to dynamically highlight ranges of data on the chart.
- Scale Sections - Scale sections allow you to alter the appearance of different scale elements if they fall in a specified range. This allows you to visually highlight important ranges of data that the user has to pay special attention to.
- Custom scale programming - you can now modify the standard defined axis scales in any way you see fit or create custom ones.

Redesigned Axis Positioning
The Axes in Nevron Chart now use anchors to attach to different places in the chart. There are two types of anchors - Dock and Cross anchors.
Dock anchors allow you to dock the axis to one of the 12 edges of a 3D cube. Each edge is called a zone. This type of docking allows you to stack axes on the sides of the chart without overlapping.
Cross axis anchors allow you to position the axes to cross another axis either at a certain value or at a percentage of the crossed axis length.

Improved Axis Paging
The component has improved axis paging supporting both numeric and date time data. This is integrated with automatic scrolling and automatic small step scroll size calculation.

Better Scalability
The Series in the component were extended to support the NLength format. As a result you can now specify for each series how the size that is not scaled on the axes should be treated. For example you can have a point series with data points 10px wide and tall or 10 percent wide and tall from the chart area. In the first case points will have the same size as the chart resizes, whereas in the second they will follow the dimensions of the chart.

Guidelines
Guidelines allow you to align panels (charts, legends, titles etc.) either vertically or horizontally. This feature is very useful when you create multiple charts.

Planned Improvements
Although in this release there are no major changes in the diagram, there are huge improvements, which Nevron is currently developing for this component. Since they are beyond the scope of a single quarterly release, they will be embedded in the diagram when completely tested and implemented.

New Layouts

Graph Layouts
- Layered graph layout - hierarchically arranges graphs.
- Barycenter graph layout - implements the barycenter layout method.
- Spring layout - classical layout, which simulates spring and electrical forces. Different coefficients (spring stiffness, length, electrical charge) will be specifiable on a per object basis.
- Symmetrical layout - implementation of the Fruchertman and Reingold force model. Tries to achieve a symmetrical drawing in which the edges are equal in length.
- Custom force directed layout - lets you define your own set of forces, or use the currently provided forces.

Common for all force directed layouts are the following constrain forces:

- Magnetic field force - impose an orientation of the edges. Magnetic fields can be combined. Supported are parallel, Polar and Concentric magnetic fields.
- Edge magnetization (bidirectional or unidirectional) can be specified on a per edge basis.
- Bounce back force - tries to additionally push overlapping vertices apart.

Tree Layouts
- Layered tree layout - layouts the tree in layers. Tries to improve the breadth tree size.
- Compact tree layout - layouts the tree by improving both the breadth and depth tree sizes. Does not obey to layering in order to achieve compact tree drawing.
- Tip-over tree layout - layouts the parent children horizontally or vertically. The parent children arrangement is specified on a per parent basis.
- Radial tree layout - layouts the tree layers in concentric circles.

Pages
The diagram component will support pages. Each page will support different logical and display units, layers etc. The page will be controlled by a formula sheet.

Formula Shapes
Nevron diagram will support formula shapes. More details on this feature will be published additionally.

Nevron User Interface for .NET

Localization
The NLocalizationManager provides simple yet elegant solution for localizing Nevron's internal strings. It contains a user-definable dictionary which is used whenever a translation request is made. You may also explicitly disable the manager if no more modifications are allowed.

Extended Entry Controls
The "Entry Control" logic has been greatly extended. Instead of creating entry wrapper for every single control in the library you may simply drop a NEntryContainer instance on a Form and specify its EntryControl property. This enables you have virtually any control wrapped, not only the ones that ship with Nevron User Interface. Additional settings like FillBoundingBox, Interactive and LabelControlRelation provide fine tune support for creating visually appealing entry forms.

Palette Color Pane
The NPaletteColorPane represents a color pane which color entries are palette-defined. Two predefined palettes are provided - Office2003 and Default.

Hyper Links
Nevron Rich Text support has been greatly improved and optimized. Available per UIElement basis is hyper-link support.

Date Time Picker
The NDateTimePicker component extends the standard System.Windows.Forms one with border and drop-down button appearance which makes it consistent with the overall look-and-feel of the Nevron User Interface components.

Task Dialog
The Nevron NTaskDialog is an extended user-input dialog. Inspired by the feature and content rich TaskDialogs in Microsoft Windows Vista, our NTaskDialog component will bring to your Windows Forms applications platform-independent Vista-like user experience.

Nevron Chart for .NET

Document - View - Controller Architecture
The chart is now a fully Document - View - Controller architecture driven component, allowing you to selectively store / load chart document state, replace the current chart document visualized by the chart control or display a single chart document in a number of chart controls.

Support for Multithreading
The chart document has two functions called Lock and Unlock that allow you to lock the document from painting while feeding data. This is very useful when you want to feed data to the chart coming from a thread in a thread safe manner.

New Charting Types
Stacked Floating Bar - You can stack Bar series over Float Bar series to construct Stacked Floating Bar charts. XY and XYZ scatters are also supported. This charting type is available both in 2D and 3D.

New 2D Rendering Device
The chart has a new 2D rendering device with improved speed and 2D image quality performance. You should see increased quality in text visualization and stroke rendering with applied shadow effect. Special care has been taken to properly render antialiased texts when ClearType rendering is enabled on the system. XML formatted text rendering with bullets is also significantly improved.

Integration with Nevron Geometry
Nevron Diagram for .NET has been integrated with the new geometry objects in the Nevron Presentation Framework. This change was made due to needed performance optimizations in the implementation of these fundamental structures and because their current implementation in the .NET framework lacks many important features and properties. One of the major advantages of using the new geometry structures is that the diagram is now better serialized in XML.

Entry Box
The NEntryBox component is a composition of two controls - NRichTextLabel and NTextBox - which work as one entity providing the user with easy-to-use and professional-looking text entry control. The component also provides interactivity features giving the user visual cues like hover and focus.

Desktop Toolbar
Nevron User Interface gives you the ability to add the "Desktop Toolbar" functionality to your Windows Forms Applications. When Docked to any edge of the Desktop the Form will behave in much the same way as the Windows Taskbar - it will reserve desktop space, other windows will not overlap it, etc. The user may also detach the Form and it will behave like a standard .NET Form.

Extended Tooltip
Our NTooltip component allows you to display rich text tooltips with ease. Completely customizable our tooltip will bring to you the latest Office 2007 standards and appearance.

TrackBar
The NTrackBar is a modern and extended replacement of the standard System.Windows.Forms TrackBar control. Based on the NShadowDecorator component the control simply hosts a generic Nevron.UI.NTrackBarElement and redirects the user input to it. Being completely custom our NTrackBar allows for settings being unavailable in the standard one - thumb size, tick height, padding, action mouse button, etc. The control uses the default colors provided by its palette but you may completely change its fill, stroke and shadow information.

Popup Notify
Inspired from the pop notifications available in the MS Office 2003 and MS Messenger our NPopupNotify component enables you to display notifications in much the same manner. Our component is the only one on the market which takes into consideration the edge at which the system TaskBar is docked and properly calculates its location and animation. Opacity, animation effects, custom shapes, rich text context, "Options" caption button, etc. - all are freely customizable either at run or design-time.

Skinned ScrollBars
Being actually window styles rather than separate components the standard scrollbars of controls like tree-view, list-box, etc. are painted internally by the system and are very hard to customize. Nevron User Interface completely extends these internal scrollbars and makes the overall look-and-feel of those controls more consistent and professional.

Docking Panels - Sticky Floating Frames
The so called "Sticky Windows" - a dragged window will "stick" to some other logical area - is a very nice and useful feature now available in the Nevron Docking Panels. You have complete control over this behavior - things like whether or not to use sticky windows, sticky area inflate, stick to main form, stick to working area, etc. are all easily customized either at run or design-time. Standard Box and Whiskers
Standard Box and Whiskers chart lets you compare the statistical parameters of several different data sets. You can modify different properties of the box and whiskers series like box size, whiskers size, fill styles, stroke styles, etc.
DateTime Box and Whiskers
DateTime Box and Whiskers chart lets you compare the statistical parameters of several data sets that are produced in different moments in time.
Point Chart and Box Plot
A combination of a point chart and box and whiskers chart which represent the same set of values. This option allows the user to input custom data points in a point chart and then the calculation of the data distribution is performed by the box and whiskers data point object.

- Shape factories, which can help you easily create any predefined shape. Added were more than 180 predefined shapes. All of them are nicely grouped in thematic shape factories.
- Support for stylesheets, which greatly minimize the effort needed to apply consistent styling to your diagrams.
- Many graph and tree related algorithms (graph and tree traversal, spanning trees, checks for cyclic, connected graph etc.).
- Support for circular arc primitives.

Improvements in the DOM

- You can now instantly convert any 2D shape to 1D shape and vice versa. Plugs are automatically created/destroyed.
- Elements now store most of their properties in property bags, which minimizes the memory footprint of the diagram.
- The shape labels, ports and control point collections are now optional. You can create and destroy them as you see fit. In this way the diagram can further be lightened.The way in which elliptical arcs are defined and edited was improved.
- Graph management was decoupled from shapes. You can now specify on a per shape basis whether you want a shape to be treated as a logical graph part.
- Groups are now much easily created - just add the shapes in their shapes collection.
- Composite shapes are now much easily created - just add the primitives in their primitives collection.
- The composition and decomposition now preserves the local style formatting.
- Support for primitive shapes. These are shapes, which aggregate a single primitive model and whose behavior is influenced by the primitive they aggregate - for example rectangle shape, ellipse shape, polygon shape etc.
- Support for form preservation of 1D primitive shapes, when you modify their start and end points.
- Support for 22 different modes in which aggregate models can scale models they aggregate (for example the way in which shapes are resized in groups). The most commonly used are CartesianScaleAndReposition, RepositionOnly and AffineScale.
- Support for element abilities and protection.
- Several new batches. Most of the operations, which views and commands perform with document content go through batches.

- You can now globally specify what types of trackers must be created for the selected shapes (for example disable the creation of pin point trackers)

One of the most unique features of our User Interface Library is the ability display forms with custom non-client metrics and painting. Overcome the limitations of the system default frames and create your own ones. Specify global or local templates or use the embedded modern ones including the famous "Vista Slate" and "Vista Royal". Being completely custom our Forms allow you to specify additional caption buttons, specify their appearance and track their click events. Rich Text label
Enter the next-generation presentation layer by experiencing our NRichTextLabel component. Ever been impressed from the way you may format texts in HTML and *.rtf files? Our label will allow you to do this in exactly the same way and will definitely give your applications distinguished appearance. The control is a combination of NShadowDecorator, NUIItem and NTextDocument instances which allow you to modify both the filling, border and shadow information and text, image, alignments, etc.

Font Combo And Font List
Base on the NComboBox and NListBox respectively these two controls will displays all installed fonts in a stylish and professional way. Three different modes are supplied: Name, NameInFont and NameAndSample.

Navigation Pane
Experience professional and visually appealing custom control identical with the navigation bar found in Microsoft Outlook 2003. Our NNavigationPane is an excellent component which not only gives your applications an advanced navigation feature but provides you with the smooth, pixel-perfect appearance of Office 2003. Decorators
Based on the generic Decorator design-pattern our Decorators are extremely useful controls enabling you not only to experience all of the predefined components that ship with the library but to create and decorate your own custom ones with ease. Modern effects like Glass, Gel and Vista are a piece of cake to produce with our decorators. And yet another unique feature is the support for shadow - either solid or linear blur. New graph edges
Several new types of graph edges the most important ones of which are the routable graph edge and the step graph edges.

Improved library management
Library documents and library views has been significantly improved. As a result the masters previews are now much more realistic and libraries are very fast to display and edit. You can now view libraries in five modes: icons and names, icons only, icons and details, list and thumbnails.

Improved data exchange
The data exchange mechanism has been significantly improved, so that you can now easily extend the component to support different types of data object formats. All you need to do is implement a data object adapt and register it in the document.

Improved routing
The build in support for routing has been significantly improved. As a result the routing of routable edges is now much faster and if specified can be automatically performed. Added were a lot of aesthetic considerations in the route finding algorithm such as minimal amount of turns, port orientation etc. You can also specify on a per obstacle basis whether the route can cross the shape only horizontally or vertically.

Improved snapping
The support for snapping has been significantly improved. As a result plugs can now snap to ports. You can specify the snap targets for each type of point and you can also control the snap strength of each individual snap target.

Nevron Docking Panels now provide a complete document support including 3 different types of document view style, document layout persistency, standard mdi menu merge and much more. Nevron Docking Panels is the only library on the market which provide you with the complete set of document views: TabbedMdi - bring to you applications the latest Visual Studio tabbed mdi interfaces. Unlimited nesting of tabbed groups. Complete control over the document tabstrips via the DocumentStyle, exposed by the DockManager. StandardMdi - Although well designed and much professional looking sometimes the tabbed documents are not the solution you will need. Nevron Docking Panels provides you with multiple document interfaces style found in the standard Windows Form control.

Mdi Menu Merge
Nevron Docking Panels now provide a complete document support. For the StandardMdi view when a document is maximized there should be commands (hosted on a menu bar) which allow for restoring of the window. This feature is implemented via an interface - INMdiMenuTarget which allows you to provide your own custom mdi menu merge implementation.

Border Support
Nevron Docking Panels provide generic border support. Based on the core INControlBorderProvider interface you may completely customize the border of a panel using either the visual editor or programmatically.

Layout Persistency
Nevron Docking Panels now provide complete layout persistency including panels, documents and styles. You may choose among 5 different persistency formats - Binary, XML, SOAP, CustomBinary and CustomXML. The last two formats are entirely custom and allow for painless migration from one version to another. The persistency features are exposed by a NDockingFrameworkState object which when attached to a valid NDockManager instance may completely serialize/deserialize its state.

Design-time Support
Complete design-time support is a main beneficial feature of any component developed under .NET platform. Nevron docking panels now provide rich and intuitive design-time support with the same behavior experienced as if the form is running at run time.

Command Model
Nevron Docking Panels now provide an extensible command model which seamlessly integrate with the framework and allows you to define global tasks and methods and specify keyboard shortcuts form them. The NDockManager exposes a new NDockingFrameworkCommander object which serves as a command manager. It has some predefined commands like NextDocument, NextPanel, CloseDocument, etc. and allows you to register your own custom commands.
