I have an application all ready to go to the laptops of my user community - with one critical flaw... The setup exe will not complete! I am including a copy of the SkinDesigner.exe with the deployment; and the error below stops the deployment process cold!

How do I stop this error from stopping the installation?! While I do have a manifest file; it seems harmless... I am attaching it for your perusal.

Per the error message, I am supposed to coordinate the details of the SkinDesigner and my manifest - How am I supposed to do that?!

ERROR DETAILS
 Following errors were detected during this operation.
 * [7/1/2010 3:00:15 PM] System.Deployment.Application.InvalidDeploymentException (RefDefValidation)
  - Reference in the manifest does not match the identity of the downloaded assembly Nevron.UI.WinForm.SkinDesigner.exe.
  - Source: System.Deployment

Any constructive advice would be appreciated!

Hi Miles,

What is the actual version of the SkinDesigner.exe that is being downloaded - the manifest says:

<assemblyIdentity name="Nevron.UI.WinForm.SkinDesigner" version="9.11.3.12" language="neutral" processorArchitecture="msil" />

If the actual version differs you'll have to update the above line. Let me know if the problem persists.

Best regards,
Bob

According to the file's Properties, Details tabpage, the version is: 9.11.3.12

Odd, eh? I got rid of the error by "cleaning" the solution, rebooting the PC and reopening the project; then I did a rebuild-all and a publish - IDK exactly what was hinky; but I'm glad that the issue is gone!

Thanks for the reply!
