Hi,

We are current users of Nevron Winform chart vision 2011 vol 1.
And it needs to migrate to .NET now.

As far as I understand we need to migrate to Nevron Vision for .NET, right?
Could you point me if there is a guidance how to migrate from version 2011 to the current version in the easiest way?
Is it would be a big trouble to migrate from version 2011 to Nevron Open Vision for .NET?

Thank you

Hi Syrthey,

Thank you for your interest in migrating to the latest version of Nevron Chart for .Net. Regarding your questions:

1. As far as I understand we need to migrate to Nevron Vision for .NET, right?
You need to migrate to the latest version of the controls you use. In case you only use the chart control then you can license it separately from the .net vision package, which will be more cost effective. Please send a request to sales@nevron.com with detailed description of the upgrade requirements to that you we can send you a quote with the most cost effective way to upgrade.

2. Could you point me if there is a guidance how to migrate from version 2011 to the current version in the easiest way?
Almost all changes in the API of Nevron Chart are backward compatible, meaning that you should not have any problems migrating to the newest release, save for a few enum/property changes. The easiest way to check the amount of changes necessary is to replace the dlls of the version you currently use with the latest ones and then try to recompile the project. You can also send the list of errors to support@nevron.com for review.

3. Is it would be a big trouble to migrate from version 2011 to Nevron Open Vision for .NET?
The API of NOV is similar but not identical to API of the controls in Nevron .NET Vision. Also, they differ in funcitonality so in this case you need to send us the features you use from the previous release.

We hope this helps - please let us know if you have any questions.

Best Regards,
Nevron Support Team
