Greetings Nevron users,

New potential customer here. Disappointed with Dundas Gauges for SharePoint (NOT currently compatible with SP2010), so giving Nevron a look...

DOWNLOAD of installer went fine...

EXTRACT of installer went fine...

RUN of installer went fine (seemingly - no obvious error messages)...

ACTIVATION of Nevron Gauge for SharePoint as Site Collection Feature went fine (intuitive)...

ADDING Nevron Gauge to Publishing Page in a publishing website went fine...

CONFIGURING Nevron Gauge via clicking on "Run Gauge Designer" inside web part...

=> PROBLEMS. Page does NOT display; get HTTP 404 Not Found error message for this page:
http://spwebdev1/_layouts/Nevron/Gauge/NGaugeDesignerPage.aspx?WebPartId=g_02ac43d5_2888_42e4_8b28_508d6481e28d&Type=Start

THAT's problem #1.

Next I tried to run the Examples Registration Wizard.

LAUNCHING Registration Wizard went fine...

SELECTING "Register Gauge Examples" went fine...

CLICKING on NEXT button...

=> On top of the install wizard a small blank box appears with the message "Access Denied."  :-|  with an "OK" button on it...

CLICKING on "OK" button...

The Select SharePoint Server window appears, and the wizard appears to be continuing with no problems...

ENTERING values for new (not already-existing) web app to which to install demo gauges went fine...

CLICKING on the "Test Connection" button went fine...

=> Pop-up message "Successfully connected to SQL Server" appears :-) (so far so good)...

CLICKING "Next" button went fine...

=> installer appears to chew/process for a few MINUTES, but eventually displays the same pane, but with the "Finish" button :-) ...

CLICKING "Finish" button appears to go fine...

=> "Performing Selected Tasks" pane appears...

Output shows "Creating web application (40501)"  [that's the unused port I selected for this (new?) web application] ...

About 2 min goes by just staring at THIS pane with NO changes/updates...

Progress bar starts to show progress; Output shows "Provisioning web application"...

THEN

Output shows "[Error] Failed to create examples web application. Exception was [Access is denied.]

The "Next" buttonis disabled. Only the "Close" button is enabled.

I'm stumped.

IDEAS on What I may have done wrong?

The account I'm doing this under is the same super-god account SharePoint 2010 was installed with, so there shouldn't be ANY question about Access Denied.

I'd really like to see if this web part can meet our needs. Here's hoping Nevron Sales Engineers are watching this forum, because this IS your "test" of how good support is... :-)

- Mark
