Hello,

Have installed the demo version onto Win 2003 server with MOSS 2007.  All the demo gauges work fine.

I've installed / registered the web parts into a separate web app on the server (port 80).

I can add the gauge web parts OK to a web part page.  In the gauge designer when I enter values into the data souce for a database connection it always gives an error "Error: Cannot connect to data source. Error was:ConnectionString cannot be an empty string."  regardless of the type of DB Connection.

Additionally if I try to change the data souce to list or web part table,  the parameters required don't change and always stays on database parameters.

some screen shots attach

I suspect I'm doing something wrong, or maybe a permissions problem or something ?  Any pointers on where to look ?

Thanks

Hi,

Looks like a re-boot fixed it.  Not sure what was going on there, did an additional couple of IISReset's, but in the end looks like it needed the big on/off switch.

Cheers

I have the same issue with Charts and Guages.  I tried restarting IIS and rebooted the server a couple times and still have the issue.  Any ideas?

Hello Dan,
Can you please check which is the build version you currently have (the version of the Nevron DLLs)?

By default, when you add a Nevron web part, it will have an empty connection. The first thing you need to do is to run the Chart/Gauge designer and connect to some data through the Data Source tab.

Following is a "Getting Started" video tutorial, which explains how to create a simple Bar chart connected to a SharePoint list: Nevron Vision for SharePoint Getting Started

Please, let us know if you have questions or if you meet any problems.

Best Regards,
Nevron Support Team
