Good Morning,

I have been working with an ODBC data set in order to provide data for a polar plot. I am capable of getting the data into the chart and display the information. However when I attempt to save after the data is displayed the editor/PI Processbook both crash. I have tried multiple drivers for the ODBC and unfortunately was unsuccessful. I couldn't locate any similar issues through the support page. Any help preventing the crash after attempting to save would be great.

Important note after the crash occurs the chart information is totally wiped out and reverted to a blank template. (Using the Demo version at this time to determine compatibility)

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

-Mike

Hi Mike,

We're not sure if we understand the case properly. As far as we get it - you are using the "Database" page of the chart editor to connect to the data source and the editor crashes when you press the "OK" button. Is this correct? Do you press the "Apply" button at any point?

Best Regards,

I was able to apply the data and then hit ok. The information would be plotted on the chart, but then upon saving the document the program would crash without a specific error.

I have since moved away from utilizing the database feature and start just using VBA to get the data into the chart.

Side question:

When I go to run the display within PI processbook the Chart pops up in the upper lefthand corner of the screen and is difficult to access/manipulate. Would there be a way to ensure that it pops up over the objects position in its display or doesn't pop up at all?

Thanks!

Hi,

As a matter of fact, we haven't tested 3D Chart for ActiveX within PI processbook. In general the container decides where to place a component, so we are not sure if something can be done on our side regarding this issue. Can you please attach a screenshot of PI processbook displaying the chart?
