Scale Ruler

The axis ruler can optionally display marks that show the scale breaks on the scale as well as the scale orientation. In most charts, the shape of the axis ruler is a stroked line, however for some presentational charts and gauges it can be modified to a rectangle (circle).

Best Practices Scale Label Layout

  • Use clear and consistent tick marks: Ensure tick marks are uniformly spaced and clearly distinguish major ticks from minor ticks.
  • Differentiate major and minor ticks: Use longer or thicker lines for major ticks and shorter, thinner lines for minor ticks to enhance readability.
